Kevin Featherly is owner and president of Featherly Consulting, L.L.C.. He is a former managing editor with Washington Post Newsweek Interactive and former news editor for McGraw-Hill’s Healthcare Informatics. He was a founding staff member at Channel 4000, the former news Web site of WCCO-TV. Featherly has published thousands of news stories, features and commentaries, with an emphasis on technology and public policy. Publications include Editor and Publisher, Online Journalism Review, Healthcare Quarterly, the San Francisco Chronicle, Washingtonpost.com, Minneapolis Star Tribune, St. Paul Pioneer Press, Minnesota Monthly, Utne Reader, City Pages, Minnesota Technology, Minnesota Law and Politics, Politics in Minnesota, Capitol Report, and many, many others.
As an industry consultant, he has produced white papers, market reports and academic research on behalf of healthcare, computer industry and legal services firms. He currently is engaged in an ongoing Microsoft Corp. intranet targeting the company’s marketing staff, and simultaneously conducting market research on behalf of the U.S. newspaper industry. In 2000, he was media coordinator for the Markle Foundation’s Web, White and Blue initiative–the world’s first online presidential debates.
